Personal

Month In Review – July 2020

July was a fairly normal month, with some major emotional lows. I’ve been growing more discontent with my job lately. Working in retail is exhausting and overall, very limited in terms of growth. A few days I just shut down, not really responding or interacting with family. Towards the end of the month, I got out of the more negative thinking. This is a cycle that repeats every few months. Knowing that this isn’t healthy is one thing, going about breaking the cycle is something I’m working on.

July Goals

Of the three things I wanted to accomplish in July, I got to two of them. I focused on rearranging my room first. Really it was just moving the bed from the wall to the middle of the room. Now, the bed acts as a divider between bedroom and living area. I want to get a desk or a lounge chair soon so I’m not consistently sitting on the floor.

Going through my clothes happened sporadically. I got rid of some pieces that didn’t fit or just didn’t want anymore. Granted, I haven’t really bought anything for my wardrobe outside of work clothes.

The goal of posting twice a week failed spectacularly. My low mood for most of the month gave me little motivation to do much writing. I have several half posts just waiting to be finished up. From now on, post a week is my more realistic goal going forward.

Grateful for…

I’ve got a cruise booked up for next fall! We ended up choosing a shorter Halloween cruise after comparing pricing with our first choice (the Panama cruise). After the cruise ends, we plan on spending a few days at Disneyland after we get back. I’m really looking forward to two cruises next year, especially since all my plans for this year have been cancelled. Can only hope that they actually happen.

For next month…

I haven’t really thought about August all that much. July felt like it went by very fast. My sister’s birthday is toward the end of the month, and I need to figure out her gift. We will be getting Halloween decorations in at work in a couple of weeks, and I’m very excited to see what’s new for 2020.

What are you looking forward to in August?
